Welcome to Yakety Yak

Rose Lavall, 58 and partner Stephen Burns are the owners of  the Yakety Yak Vintage Tea room on Bullock Fair Close, Harleston. We have designed our new venture on the 1940’s and 1950’s, combining it with the British love of tea.Yakety Yak

We wanted something we could do together and liked the idea of a vintage tearoom. We looked at several places, and settled on this one in Harleston. It was previously a furniture shop, so we have had to transform it into a tearoom.”

We have transformed the premises to reflect the eras past and customers can chose from 18 different varieties of loose leaf tea, served in a traditional tea pot with bone china tea cups and saucers.

We admit “It was hard work to start with but we have been going from strength to strength, every day and it’s getting better by the day. Harleston is a lovely town it’s all anyone could wish for, local shops with local people working in them.”

What we wanted was to create a welcoming atmosphere with a vintage feel our venture has been highly welcomed into the town since it opened in January.

VisitorsWe have a customer called Margaret Butcher, 69 who wrote to the local paper and said: “I welcome the new Yakety Yak Tea Room to Harleston, It echoes times past when you were pleasantly served with good fare in quiet comfort.

“I wish them every success so that I can enjoy the comfort of the tea room along with other customers for years to come.”

Served alongside the variety of tea are handmade cakes and Cream Teas which are in keeping with the tradition of afternoon tea.

We have been told by many of our Customers they really enjoy our teas, scones, and cakes along side our more hearty food such as a ploughman's, or a salad what we have created is working well as you will see if you look us up on tripadvisor . Harleston is a lovely town and the people have made us feel so very welcome so come and find us so we can make you feel welcome also.”

Yakety Yak Tea room is on Bullock Fair Close and we are open Monday to Saturday from 9am through to 6pm and Sunday’s 10am through to 4pm.
